Description of Admissions Requirements
Baccalaureate Programs:
1. Admission to the college.
2. Passing scores on the Communications and Literacy MTEL.
3. Grades of C or better on the first three courses in the education sequence. Preferred: grades of A or B.
4. Endorsement by faculty in the student's arts or sciences major.
5. Endorsement from at least one education faculty member.
6. Approval as a candidate, both academically and personally,by the full education faculty.
Post-baccalaureate Programs:
1. Application to the college.
2. Two signed, sealed and confidential reference letters on official letterhead.
3. Goal statement.
4. Current resume.
5. Official transcripts showing a minimum gpa
of 3.0 at the undergraduate level.
6. $30 application fee
7. Copies of relevant MTEL scores.
8. Reading Specialist candidates only: A letter signed by a school official documenting at least one year of teaching experience.
9. An interview with the Chair of the Education
Division.
