Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2022
Goal #1 Fully Implementing a new Student at Risk Process and training PS/SP/Faculty on implementation of this system with fidelity.
Goal #2 Integrating the Field Placement and Online Program Offices to better serve all students - on ground and online
Goal #3 TC Recruitment of diverse teaching workforce through: 1. MC's Emergency License initiative to help teachers earn their initial license; 2. Partnerships in Boston, Haverhill, Lynn, and Lawrence to help more community members and school employees earn initial teaching licenses; 3. Expanding dual enrollment and Early College programming to recruit diverse high school students to the education field, with a special emphasis on recruiting Black and Latinx candidates to education, particularly young men

Annual Goals - 2021
Goal #1 Merrimack College education department will focus on course and faculty consistency. As an education department, our weekly continuous improvement meetings focus on creating critical assessments for each course. These critical assessments will be highlighted in e-portfolios and evaluated as part of candidate readiness for practicum.
Goal #2 The department continues to work on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, including recruitment of a more diverse teaching workforce, development of inclusive classroom strategies for our students, and preparing all education students to work with K-12 public students throughout the state.
Goal #3 Faculty and staff will develop a consistent lesson plan and unit plan template that each course and field experiences builds upon before and during practicum.

Annual Goals - 2020
Goal #1 Complete full training on SPs, PSs, Faculty and staff on CAP implementation, and on thoroughness of evaluation and feedback.
Goal #2 Implement Gateway assessment system, and continue implementation of at-risk system during pre-practicum field experiences.
Goal #3 Increase coherence across programs, including common assessments and lesson planning resources.
