Annual Goals
This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed. Data last updated January 16, 2025.

Educator preparation program improvement goals for the upcoming program year |
Goal #1 |
Pilot program (a series of courses and fieldwork experiences), which will allow our candidates to earn an add-on license in moderate disabilities, which is an identified area of need in our partner districts. |
Goal #2 |
Align English and History licensure programs to incorporate the entire fifth through twelfth grade range. |
Goal #3 |
Work to create a more direct pipeline from the Urban Education Pathway to licensure programs at Smith. |

Goal #1 |
Use the partner stakeholder survey results to inform and guide our continuous improvement efforts as well as future discussions with our partners. |
Goal #2 |
In response to partner feedback about their needs, we plan to develop offerings leading to the SEI endorsement for inservice teachers. |
Goal #3 |
Explore the feasibility and develop a program (a series of courses and fieldwork) which will allow our candidates to earn an add-on license in moderate disabilities. |

Goal #1 |
Continue and increase training for supervising practitioners and systematize training for program supervisors. |
Goal #2 |
Establish and implement a more intentional system of evaluating partnerships on an ongoing basis-- one which involves partner stakeholders. |
Goal #3 |
Implement the Candidate Assessment of Performance with all candidates beginning in the fall of 2016. Make improvements to CAP process at our institution based on candidate, supervisor, and supervising practitioner feedback from the 2015- 2016 CAP pilot. |
