Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 To better support student achievement and careers, the Department will review current MTEL policies and current practices to help students pass these exams in a timely manner.
Goal #2 To fully develop and implement new program areas, such as the Adjustment Counseling and Digital Literacy and Computer Science programs.
Goal #3 To develop, implement, and assess new pre-practica for each educator preparation program, including use of data to help inform program coursework.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 The School of Education and Social Policy has many districts that we partner with, and the focus this year is to identify ways that we can deepen our connections. This will include the administration of surveys, meetings with school officials and visits to partner schools.
Goal #2 As the number of our programs are growing and we are increasing in enrollment in all programs, we are working to ensure that curriculum and instruction are fully implemented, while monitoring students needs.
Goal #3 To support the growth of programs, additional faculty and staff are being added to the School of Education and Social Policy, to provide expertise and capacity to support our students.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 The School of Education and Social Policy has been working closely and in response to requests from our partner districts to develop and add new educator preparation program offerings to help meet the needs for new leaders, support personnel (guidance) and teachers. This year we have worked to create, design and are seeking approval from MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) for Administrative Leadership and School Guidance Counseling program expand building upon our successful teacher education programs. In addition a fifth delivery model for our graduate programs has been implemented with the creation of a hybrid competency-based education graduate teacher education program.
Goal #2 Faculty and staff have worked to review all existing programs, as we reconstructed our coursework and field-based experiences to align with the state's revised Professional Standards for Teachers (PST) and to support the full implementation of ESE's new teacher assessment tool - Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP).
Goal #3 Field-Based Experiences have been closely reviewed, as part of the PST Implementation requirements and CAP continuous improvement initiatives. The expectations, experiences and outcomes of pre-practicum and practicum have been reviewed and modified to enhance and increase the duration of school-based experiences, to better prepare aspiring teachers.
