Annual Goals

This report lists the annual improvement goals reported to ESE in the educator preparation program provider’s state annual report. Providers may report up to three goals for the upcoming year and are asked to report on progress made toward the prior year’s goals. Annual goals are reported in May of the academic year listed.

Annual Goals - 2018
Goal #1 Working closely with Program Supervisors, Education Faculty will define and document Educator Dispositions, use this document to assess and guide candidate self-assessment of performance in FP1 and FP2 ensuring successful Student Teaching and early teaching experiences.
Goal #2 Using data gathered in Program Review, the Department will design and implement an Advisory Board model that increases engagement to better serve both Partners and MCLA. This model will expand membership to include Candidates and include agendas focused on the needs of Partners, Candidates, Field-Based experiences and impact on PreK-12 classrooms.
Goal #3 MCLA will increase enrollment and the number of diverse learners through the Summer 2019 launch of the 4+1 M.Ed. program and the 2018-2019 Greylock Teach Fellows cohort.

Annual Goals - 2017
Goal #1 Continue to develop ways to attract/retain a diverse student pool by expanding efforts to recruit and through innovative K12 partnership programs such as our current Teach Fellows program, dual enrollment programming, educator awareness-raising activities, and through campus-wide efforts to diversify MCLA and support student success.
Goal #2 Continue to refine MTEL success rates through early and targeted preparation opportunities. Identify "best" times for students to take content-appropriate MTELs based on their content major coursework by working with academic discipline partners. Pilot new tools (software) to support student practice opportunities.
Goal #3 Work with disciplinary partners to further refine SMKs and how they are included in the student course experience. Work with K12 and educator faculty to reflect emerging needs pertaining to social emotional learning and ongoing pedagogical and content needs.

Annual Goals - 2016
Goal #1 Further enliven Advisory Group (4 meetings a year), support cooperating K12 teachers within new CAP, support licensure needs such as SEI, mentoring and induction.
Goal #2 Continue to develop ways to attract/retain a diverse student pool by expanding efforts to recruit and through innovative K12 partnership programs such as our current Teach Fellows program.
Goal #3 Integrate PSTs and CAP into courses/experiences and ensure college and K12 faculty are oriented and implementing.
